NAKIN Skincare - Review

I have a secret to tell - until very recently I did not have a regular skincare routine. One of the reason is that most of my life I was extremely lucky with my skin. Even in my teenage years, there was never an acne-prone phase. I would occasionally get a pimple, just one at a time, normally on top of the nose or in the middle of my forehead. Kinda annoying, but never enough to make me experiment with skincare products.

I also haven’t used a full-on face coverage, such as makeup foundation until about a year and a half ago when I started working in Film & TV where the emphasis is on having a flawlessly made-up face. That seemed to affect the quality of my skin. Even now I avoid covering my face in full makeup regularly. I love letting my skin breathe.

Aware that the 20s are the time when we should start paying more attention to our skin, I did occasionally pick up a product I was interested in testing out, but often it would backfire and cause irritation. That is when I became more cautious with testing products and paying attention to the ingredients. Now at the age of 27 I was still looking for those quality products I can trust.

Enter NAKIN - a British natural anti-ageing skincare brand that requested me to review their products.

About Nakin Products-

The reason that got me the most interested in testing Nakin is that all Nakin Skincare is free from undesirable synthetic ingredients like Parabens, SLS, SLES, DEA, Petrochemicals, Mineral Oil, artificial fragrance & colour, Phthalates, Sunscreen Chemicals, PEGS and Propylene Glycol. An additional advantage is that all their products are cruelty-free!

I was gifted two of their products: Natural Anti-Ageing Matt Formula Face Cream and Natural Anti-Ageing Purifying Face Toner. I’ve been testing both products for the past month to give you an accurate review.

Nakin Natural Anti-Ageing Purifying Face Toner

I used the toner every morning and occasional evening after cleansing my face with a moisturising face cleanser. You can apply the toner with a makeup pad, but I preferred to tap it in with the tips of my fingers. Nakin toner left my skin feeling extra fresh, gave it a good double cleanse and prepped it for the next layer of moisturiser.

Nakin Natural Anti-Ageing Matt Formula Face Cream - for normal/oily skin

I applied this moisturiser every morning and evening post cleansing my face. The texture of this face cream is so nice, it glides into your skin as you apply it without the greasy feeling. One thing I noticed is how much it improved the elasticity of my skin! I absolutely loved that. As promising, the face cream leaves a mattifying finish to your skin so I would definitely recommend it to anyone with oily skin. My skin is more on the normal/occasionally dry side. Even though this moisturiser worked wonders for me regardless, it makes me really want to try Nakin’s Natural Anti-Ageing Active Dew Face Cream for that dewy finish.

Both of the products smell wonderful and ‘natural’ which is always a bonus in my books!
